Adult Education going strong at MCST

October 14, 2021

Fall courses are underway at Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Ed. Here’s an easy viewing tool: the pdf of our Fall ’21 course catalog allows you to see everything offered. You can browse through it and/or register for upcoming classes via our website, www.midcoastadulted.com. Or call our office (207-596-7752 x3) Mondays through Thursdays, 9:30-4:00, to register with Heidi or Betsy over the phone. To avoid disappointment, register promptly to assure the class runs and you have a seat in it!

Jay Orlando presents a 2-session course called “Finding Jobs Online: Using LinkedIn & More”, starting Tuesday, October 19th from 6:30-8:30pm. The final session is 10/19. Curious about Monster.com or Indeed.com? Let Jay instruct on the nuances of these sites so you can determine what has value to you. Create an effective profile and know the path to search for jobs. What’s the best approach for connecting to “head hunters”? And how do you smoothly handle the reach-out for an interview?

Jeremy Harmon is back with “Aviation Ground School”. In 16 sessions you’ll get instruction on passing the FAA written exam (a major step toward certification as a private pilot), learn aerodynamics, aircraft systems, flight controls, weather, navigation, aeromedical factors, airspace, control tower operations, and other essential aspects. No need to have prior aviation knowledge. Actual flight training can be arranged for an additional fee with the instructor. Classes run Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8pm, starting Oct. 25th.

Susan Reidy is an ace at online instruction for “The Power of Line” via Zoom. Join in if you want to learn to draw or freshen up your skills or sharpen your eye for “how to see”. Gain confidence and control in 4 weekly sessions, starting Tuesday, Oct. 26th, 6-8pm.

Lucky for us, we have Brandon Soards offering a crash course on video editing using DaVinci Resolve. Learn the core fundamentals of computer-based video editing, using a bit of footage you provide from a thumb drive. Sign up soon: the class runs on Thursday, Oct. 28th from 5:30-8pm.

Tempted? Our team here at the school makes sure we have a safe and clean environment. And, we answer all manner of questions on our offerings, and hope to see you here at the far end of Rockland soon.
